Joseph is a member of the New York Bar and a Foreign Legal Advisor at Kelvin Chia Partnership. He has lived and/or worked in the Four Asian Tigers: Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong, which has provided him with a well-rounded legal and business perspective of the region on which he leverages for his cross-border and regional work. Prior to joining Kelvin Chia Partnership, Joseph worked for one of Greater China's largest law firms where he routinely assisted in corporate and commercial matters related to East and Southeast Asia.
Joseph services clients in the Oil & Gas industry by assisting them with drafting and negotiating various agreements relating to the production, refinement, and distribution of hydrocarbons in the region, as well as other types of businesses that service the industry at large (such as oilfield service companies). He is also able to assist clients in the broader areas of energy and natural resources, especially on matters relating to project finance, construction, and mining in ASEAN.
Joseph also assists clients in the area of Entertainment Law, with a primary focus on the Video Games and Esports industries. Joseph holds memberships in both the Video Game Bar Association and the Esports Bar Association due to his experience in these fields.
Joseph has further achieved a reputation as a leading practitioner in the Blockchain industry, representing a number of clients, including parties conducting token generation events, crypto exchanges, and supporting crypto industry businesses. In addition to his specialized areas of practice, Joseph also practices general corporate and commercial work, funds work (private equity/venture capital), joint-ventures, intellectual property, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
