Construction

Our practice group is led by our head of Engineering and Construction, John Chung. He is a qualified architect and lawyer, as well as an experienced arbitrator.

We assist in transactional and contractual matters, namely the review and drafting of contracts and agreements, and also act in litigation and arbitration proceedings. We represent many Japanese, Korean and Chinese construction companies in areas of actual and potential disputes.

Some representative work in this practice area include:

  • Advising on various standard and non-standard forms of construction contracts including the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Conditions of Contract and Subcontract, Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC), FIDIC and ICE forms of contract
  • Advising on tender conditions, supply and installation agreements, joint venture agreements and build operate and transfer arrangements
  • Preparing and drafting various engineering and procurement contracts (EPC) pertaining to buildings, power plants, desalination plants, civil & engineering work
  • Advising and drafting various forms of design and build contracts; and preparing and drafting professional terms of appointment of architects, engineers and other consultants
